U3A Cockburn & Districts
Bringing together the over-50s crowd with a thirst for knowledge and a penchant for good company.
U3A Cockburn is the newest kid on the block
This budding branch of the University of the Third Age (U3A) sprouted mid-2023, filling a much-needed gap for the lively seniors of the area.
Every second Friday of the month, you’ll find them gathered at the Success Library Community Room, sharing stories, swapping ideas, and diving into a smorgasbord of presentations that are as intriguing as they are diverse. From the peculiar beauty of Australia’s carnivorous plants to the complexities of Alzheimer’s, there’s no topic too bold or too curious for this bunch.
Jean Indermaur and Ben, the go-getters spearheading the charge, are on a mission to grow U3A Cockburn into a full-fledged branch. They’re not just building a club; they’re crafting a community where the love of learning never retires, and every meeting is a doorway to new adventures1.
So, if you’re in the neighborhood and find that your calendar is free on a Friday afternoon, why not drop by? Who knows, you might just catch the learning bug, and there’s no better place to let it flourish than U3A Cockburn.
