Preserving the past, enriching the present
The South Perth Historical Society is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to celebrating and preserving the rich heritage of South Perth. Operating from the beautifully restored Heritage House, built in 1904 and nestled in the heart of the Mends Street heritage precinct, the Society brings history to life through exhibitions, events, and community engagement.
Visitors can explore fascinating displays, including the May Gibbs and Herbert Gibbs art collection, and learn about local icons like the restored Ferry Tram B15. The Society embraces Active Heritage, offering a dynamic experience that connects people to the stories, architecture, and culture that shaped the area.
Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply curious about the past, the South Perth Historical Society invites you to discover, learn, and be inspired.
